A Hidden Turkish Gem in Chester – My Stomach is Still Applauding Let me set the scene for you... It was a scorching, sticky Saturday afternoon. The kind of day where even the sun seems tired. I was hot, bothered, and running on fumes—desperately in need of something nourishing, comforting, and delicious. But not just any food. I was on a mission: to find a small, independent spot with heart. Somewhere that serves healthy, authentic dishes that are as beautiful as they are tasty. A culinary oasis with a chilled-out vibe. Chester, I love you, but you weren’t making it easy. I wandered, growing hangry (it’s a thing), starting to lose hope. And then... I saw it. Like a delicious mirage. “Turkish Kitchen.” Oh, sweet, sweet music to my rumbling belly. As I approached, the scent hit me first—smoky, spiced, utterly hypnotic. I was practically floating toward it like a cartoon character sniffing a pie on a windowsill. The decor? Instantly charming. Think warm, welcoming, and just the right amount of exotic to feel like a mini holiday. Before I could soak it all in, a lovely waitress appeared, smiled, and asked if I’d like a table. “Yes please!” I replied, with the enthusiasm of someone who hadn’t eaten since the Jurassic era. She handed me a menu and I asked for a recommendation. After a short pause (like she was about to reveal a family secret), she whispered: “The lamb pork chops.” I nodded sagely. “Say no more.” The dish arrived in record time, delivered with a smile and plated so beautifully I hesitated to ruin the masterpiece. But ruin it I did—and happily so. The lamb chops were juicy, tender, and seasoned with wizard-level skill. Paired with a fresh mint yoghurt, a crunchy vibrant salad, fluffy pilau rice, warm Turkish bread, and even a bit of Turkish cheese—honestly, I felt like royalty. And just to start things off right, I’d also ordered hummus with olives and more Turkish bread (because carbs are love, carbs are life). Creamy, tangy, moreish. It was like the chickpeas were singing in harmony. Every bite was a mini flavour explosion. The portion sizes? Generous. The prices? Astonishingly fair—32 for a full-on feast. My stomach and my wallet both left satisfied. Final verdict? This place is a MUST. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Chester, do yourself a favour and stop in. The food is phenomenal, the vibes are spot-on, and the staff make you feel right at home. I’m already planning my return—and this time, I’m bringing friends. (Also possibly stretchy pants. Just saying.)

We all loved the food, really friendly serve, and a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend if you're ever in Chester. We had the vegetarian mezze selection which was very tasty. My Dad enjoyed his roast lamb and Efes beer. Definitely worth booking in advance.

I recently visited Chester for the 2nd time and after eating here last year, I was very excited to come back and it's safe to say they pulled it out of the bag once again. Sitting on the cushions outside eating a wide meze platter is always a highlight. Their service is second to none, and are always prompt and polite. Their 'bazaar' shop has some beautiful Turkish items and some of the ingredients they use in the menu so I can hope to recreate their lovely food at home. 10/10

What a great dining experience this Turkish restaurant is. Great atmosphere, very comfortable dining areas, lovely service, great menu and great produce. The service was welcoming, relaxed, attentive without being intrusive. The food was exceptional good value with a creative and colourful menu. You can buy produce from them too and their Turkish delight is the real deal. Highly recommended.

Unbelievable Turkish food, THE best outside of Istanbul! I spent 10 days trying food all over Istanbul last year, and I still think the menemen here is the best I’ve ever had, it’s delicious! The sucuk is so tasty and the simit is lovely and fresh! If I had one gripe it would be that it’s on the expensive side...I had menemen with sucuk and an apple iced tea which came to 19. BUT being in the heart of Chester city centre it’s not unexpected. Would 100% recommend visiting if you’re in Chester, the food and the atmosphere is spot on, it’s like being in Moda!
